பாரதியின் தேசப்பற்று
கவிஞர் ஷெல்ல யின்   இடையறாததனிமனிதத் தேடுதல். பாரதி தேசபக்தி பாடல்கள் எழுதுவதற்கு தூண்டுகோலாக இருந்தது. அவர் எழுதிய உணர்ச்சிமிக்க தேசபக்தி பாடல்கள் தமிழ் மக்களின் கவனத்தை இடையறாது ஈர்த்தது.அவர் எழுதிய தேசபப்க்தி பாடல்கள் "ஸ்வதேச கீதங்கள்"(1908) மற்றும் "ஜன்ம பூமி" (1909) ஆகிய இரண்டு புத்தகங்களில் காணலாம்.இந்த இரண்டு புத்தகங்களையும் சகோதரி நிவேதிதாவிற்கு அர்பணித்துள்ளார்
Patriotic Poems :     Bharati who loved Shelley’s tireless search for individual liberty was influenced by him while writing patriotic poetry. He caught the breathless attention of the Tamil people with his powerful lyric, the bulk of which are to be found in ‘ Swadesa Gitangal ‘ (1908) and ‘ Janma Bhumi ‘ (1909). Significantly he dedicated both the books to Sisters Nivedita.
